Basso continuo
Thomas is in regular demand as a teacher of basso continuo, organ and harpsichord. He firmly believes in a joined up approach to the practical element of learning harmony at the keyboard which encompasses an understanding of harmony, figured bass, principles of voice leading, common bass patterns, transposition, score reading and improvisation.

Active as a researcher, Thomas is currently working on a publication which leads students through a progression of exercises to prepare for a thorough understanding of harmony at the keyboard.

He is in regular demand as a workshop and masterclass leader, known for his friendly, practical and joined up approach to teaching. Thomas teaches basso continuo at the Royal College of Music.
